Leonie’s Kaszazz Events and Projects

What Leonie is up to using fab Kaszazz products

3D – Thursday’s Project April 16, 2009

Today I made a Christmas gift box.  I used Crimson Bazzil (4514) and embossed two stamps with silver embossing powder(10020).  The stamps I used were Bauble Border (1742LK) and Mini Messages (4109KK).  I couldn’t resist adding Rhinestones (4556) – and then I added a bow using 1/8″ organdy in white (70621).

The sides of the box are 6cm wide and the ends are 3cm long.  The box is 24cm long.  I rounded the corners of the ends with  the corner rounder punch (PSPCR02C).  I used a bone scorer (BON10029) to score all the fold lines on the wrong side before assembling the box.  And once again I used 24mm supertape (4699).

I’m setting myself a challenge for tomorrow – to come up with a 3D project which isn’t a gift box.

Wednesday’s project – 3D April 16, 2009

I made this little gift bag yesterday.  Its made from fawn Bazzil (4217) with retro punched flowers (PSM130C and PSP92C) from ivory (9358) cardstock.  The flowers are edged with dark brown fluid chalk pad – I have it in the petal point set (71532) which makes it easy to get into the centres of the flowers.  There are 6mm  rhinestones (4556) in the centre of the flowers.  The ribbon is from the castaway set (6102) – brown with aqua stitching.

Rather than using a glue, I used 24mm supertape (4699) to stick the side and bottom of the bag.  No worries about drying time, a very strong bond and no worries about buckling.  I got the template from http://rubberstamping.about.com/od/templates/ss/GiftBag_2.htm  When I make another one I’ll make sure I decorate the front – not the back LOL.  If you look closely at the photo you’ll see what I mean.

Blog wars comes to Crafty Leonie’s blog April 16, 2009

I belong to a group of Kaszazz consultants – you’ll find the links to their blogs on the left of the screen – who participate in the “Blog Wars”.  Each week a Kaszazz product or a technique is chosen and we put our thinking caps on and come up with five different projects based on the product or technique of the week.  So come back each day and see what I and my fellow participants have been up to – we hope to give you lots of inspiration!

Today I held a workshop at my place for the “Waterfall Flip Tag Album”.  Its easy to make – and once you know the trick to getting the mechanics of it right – its a very impressive little brag book!  First – here’s the cover…….

……… it features papers and bazzil from the “Blossom” assortment.

And then when you open it up………….

…………. on the left hand side is a family photo and a vellum embellishment.  On the right hand side is a series of six overlapping mini pages – each with a photo.  On the far right is a tab with ribbon embellishment.  When you pull on the tab ……………

………. the six mini pages cascade like a waterfall.  It is not as hard as it looks and very satisfying to make.

It can be a brag book or part of a scrapbook 12×12 layout.  You could also make it so it is part of a layout – but removable!

Keep an eye on my website for when I’ll be offering this workshop again – probably in September 2008.  Or contact me to organise the workshop at your place for yourself and up to five of your friends.  www.leoniescraftcorner.com

The next step will be to attach the photos, SB paper and vellum.  Then comes the journalling and embellishing.

I am running this workshop at my place on Saturday 30th August.  For details see my website www.leoniescraftcorner.com – or contact me if you want to gather some friends and hold it at your place (or mine) at a time to suit you.
