Father’s Day ATCs – Day 2 September 2, 2009

P9020060

I used two shades of blue Bazzil that Kaszazz sell – but I must admit I don’t know what the exact shades are.  I rounded the corners of the base card and attached two lengths of 1/2″ Denim twill ribbon.  I stamped the ribbon with the small flourish stamp.  I stamped the greeting and the roman clock also using Fluid Chalk “Charcoal”.  I sponged the edges of both cards with the same inkpad.  I embellished the cards with gold mini round fasteners, before magic mounting the smaller card onto the bigger one.

Blog Wars – Father’s Day ATCs September 2, 2009

What a great week – as you know I love making ATCs (Artist Trading Cards).  Here is the card I made for Day 1.

P9020061

Base card is Pomegranate (From new card essentials “Earth Tones”.  A piece of “Stripes” from the “Spice” SB papers has been torn and edged with Espresso paint dabber.  “Happy Father’s Day” stamped in distress ink “Walnut Stain” and edge sponged in “Peeled Paint”.  Final touch is two mini aged copper safety pins.

As well as being involved in the ATCs swaps in the Kaszazz Consultants’ Yahoo group, I’ve also now joined Fiona’s ATC club.  I’ve just finished making the ATCs for August – the theme is Father’s Day.  I’m not putting a photo up yet – I’ll do that after Fiona sends my set of different ATCs back to me.

There are 4 of us in the club so far, so that means I’ve had to make 4 identical 3 1/2″ by 2 1/2″ cards using Kaszazz products and stamps.  I’ll post these to Fiona on Monday as she is the club host.  When she receives the ATCs from the other two members she sorts the ATCs so that we get one of each, and then she posts them back to us.  I can’t wait to see what creative ideas Fiona and the other two members have come up with!

If you would like to join the club you can contact me (leave a comment here, contact me via Facebook or my email) or you can contact Fiona directly via her blog – the link is on the right hand side of my blog – “paper creations with fi”.

Your ATCs can be as simple or ornate as you would like them to be.  There are photos of ATCs in this blog just click on the ATCs links in the category and tags boxes on the right hand side of the blog.  Happy crafting!

March ATC Swap April 17, 2009

I belong to an online Kaszazz consultants group and each month an ATC swap is held.  (For info on what an ATC is click on the page link at the top of this blog.)

The March swap theme was “Memories”, and we were to think about the Victorian bushfire victims when creating our cards.  Below is the card I made…along with another from the swap that featured the same stamp. Mine is the one on the left.  I used “Ebony and Ivory” cardstock, Java Bazzil, dark brown fluid chalk ink pad, brown ribbon with cream stitching and copper embellishments.

Same stamp - different look and feel.

Here’s all the cards from the swap.  Its interesting to see all the different interpretations.  All the cards are made using Kaszazz products.

3D – Thursday’s Project April 16, 2009

Today I made a Christmas gift box.  I used Crimson Bazzil (4514) and embossed two stamps with silver embossing powder(10020).  The stamps I used were Bauble Border (1742LK) and Mini Messages (4109KK).  I couldn’t resist adding Rhinestones (4556) – and then I added a bow using 1/8″ organdy in white (70621).

The sides of the box are 6cm wide and the ends are 3cm long.  The box is 24cm long.  I rounded the corners of the ends with  the corner rounder punch (PSPCR02C).  I used a bone scorer (BON10029) to score all the fold lines on the wrong side before assembling the box.  And once again I used 24mm supertape (4699).

I’m setting myself a challenge for tomorrow – to come up with a 3D project which isn’t a gift box.

Wednesday’s project – 3D April 16, 2009

I made this little gift bag yesterday.  Its made from fawn Bazzil (4217) with retro punched flowers (PSM130C and PSP92C) from ivory (9358) cardstock.  The flowers are edged with dark brown fluid chalk pad – I have it in the petal point set (71532) which makes it easy to get into the centres of the flowers.  There are 6mm  rhinestones (4556) in the centre of the flowers.  The ribbon is from the castaway set (6102) – brown with aqua stitching.

Rather than using a glue, I used 24mm supertape (4699) to stick the side and bottom of the bag.  No worries about drying time, a very strong bond and no worries about buckling.  I got the template from http://rubberstamping.about.com/od/templates/ss/GiftBag_2.htm  When I make another one I’ll make sure I decorate the front – not the back LOL.  If you look closely at the photo you’ll see what I mean.

Blog wars comes to Crafty Leonie’s blog April 16, 2009

I belong to a group of Kaszazz consultants – you’ll find the links to their blogs on the left of the screen – who participate in the “Blog Wars”.  Each week a Kaszazz product or a technique is chosen and we put our thinking caps on and come up with five different projects based on the product or technique of the week.  So come back each day and see what I and my fellow participants have been up to – we hope to give you lots of inspiration!

The next step will be to attach the photos, SB paper and vellum.  Then comes the journalling and embellishing.

I am running this workshop at my place on Saturday 30th August.  For details see my website www.leoniescraftcorner.com – or contact me if you want to gather some friends and hold it at your place (or mine) at a time to suit you.
